- Audience. This course is for everyone 16 years of age and older.
- Duration. This Course will take at least 6 hours to 6.5 hours to complete.
- Course Overview. The 2021 American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification course is a blended online + classroom-based course that meets OHSA workplace requirements for Educators, Electricians, Law Enforcement, Construction Workers, and anyone wanting to learn critical skills to save a life.
- This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation.
- This is a blended learning course consisting of online content a skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. For more information please reference the attachment you will receive via e-mail when you register for this course.
- Materials Included. Adult and Pediatric Manikins, Training AED’s, Basic First Aid Training Supplies, CPR Pocket and Face Masks, Participant Reference Guides, and Adult & Pediatric Red Cross Exams.
- Requirements to Certify. In order to receive certification from this course, the participant must be able to perform CPR from a kneeling position while on the floor (for Adult patients); must attend the full course; successfully demonstrate competency in chest compressions and rescue breaths; and maintain safety at all times.
