- The American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides participants with the knowledge and skills they need to assess, recognize and care for patients who are experiencing respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest, airway obstruction or opioid overdose. When a patient experiences a life-threatening emergency, healthcare providers need to act swiftly and promptly. This course emphasizes providing high-quality care and integrating psychomotor skills with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
- Through the use of lecture skills demonstration practice and case-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response. BLS builds the key critical thinking problem solving and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. Upon successful completion of the course learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime anywhere access to certificate and training history
